The NBL1 South’s Hobart Chargers claimed their fifth win of the season on Friday night thanks to the strong performance of new import Terrell Brown.

Scoring 29 points in his debut against the Frankston Blues, the American guard was nothing but fantastic in front of his new home crowd.

Coming off his first season overseas in Norway, Brown said he was thankful to be able to start a new chapter in Australia.

“Shout out to my coach (Anthony Stewart), and to the team,” he told the Chargers post-game

“They put me in the best situations and they are giving me the best opportunities to show what I can actually do on the court. I’m just blessed to be here, I’m blessed to get the opportunity that I’m getting right now.”

Despite the lack of chemistry, the Chargers clawed out an eight-point win at home with an all-round team effort with five players scoring in double-digits.

Brown only landed in Australia last Sunday and was able to get a few practices under his belt before making his debut against the Semi-Finalists from last season.

Looking ahead to the long-term goals, Brown is confident that the Chargers will be a title-contender once again.

“I feel like we can make it, I feel like we are going to be there,” Brown said.

“We’re gonna be in the championship, I honestly feel that. I feel like if we keep just working hard and keep trusting each other, we are going to be great at the end of the day.”

The Chargers will host the Melbourne Tigers on Friday night from 6:00pm AEST, streaming live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App.
