After playing with the NBL1 South Mount Gambier Pioneers for two seasons, Canadian National Team representative Cassandra Brown has signed with the reigning WNBL champions the Townsville Fire.
From @NBL1 to @WNBL, @TownsvilleFire have added Mount Gambier’s Canadian import Cassandra Brown to its roster for #WNBL24.
Brown is averaging 19.9p, 8.1r, 2.1a this #NBL1 season.
Averaging 19.8 points per game and eight rebounds for the third on the ladder Pioneers, Brown has been one of the best bigs in the NBL1 South for the past two seasons - leading Mount Gambier to a deep Finals run last year and now locking in their Finals spot again for the 2023 season.

Brown said that she is excited to stay in Australia and cannot wait to join the title-winning team.
“I’m super excited! To play for an organization like the Fire is an honour and I don’t take it for granted,” Brown said.
“I followed the WNBL carefully in the off-season as a fan, and studied the game closely as a player, especially Townsville. Playing in the WNBL has been a goal of mine and to have the opportunity to play for the defending champions makes it that much more special.”
Brown now joins Pioneers teammate Zitina Aokuso with the Fire, and you can watch the pair take on Anneli Maley's Eltham Wildcats on Sunday, from 12:00pm AEST in the NBL1 South Game of the Week Live & Free via Kayo Freebies here.
