NBL superstar Jo Lual-Acuil Jr. has signed with the NBL1 South’s Sandringham Sabres for the 2024 season.

Joining Melbourne United assistant coach and Sabres head coach David Barlow, JLA becomes a conference-shaking piece alongside United teammates Shea Ili, Tanner Krebs, Campbell Blogg and Tom Koppens.

During the regular season of NBL24, he was named to the All-NBL Second Team – averaging 14.5 points, 7.7 rebounds and 1.4 blocks for the Finals team.

The Sabres made the NBL1 South Grand Final last season, narrowingly losing to the eventual national champion Knox Raiders.

With the Paris Olympics in July, his NBL1 availability will be dependent on South Sudan’s Olympic schedule.

United heads into Game Five of the NBL’s Championship Series on Sunday, where the Sabres core will compete in a do-or-die game against the Tasmania JackJumpers at John Caine Arena.

The Sabres play their first game on Wednesday, in a Grand Final rematch streaming Live and Free from 8:00pm via Kayo Freebies.
