NBL veteran returns to Sabres

Superstar guard and Melbourne United veteran, Shea Ili, will return to the NBL1 South next season with the Sandringham Sabres. 

Ili was a leader for the Sabres last season, averaging a superb 17.9 points and 4.4 rebounds per game in 2024. 

Former United teammate and Sabres head coach, David Barlow, said the club was lucky to have Ili return to the line-up next season.

“Beyond excited that Shea Ili is returning to the mighty Sabres next season," Barlow said. 

"NBL Champion, international monster and reigning NBL Defensive Player of the Year. Tough, smart, competitive, talented, great leader and an all around elite person. We’re lucky to have someone like Shea at our club."
