Round 2 of the NBL1 South started with some cracking game on a Thursday night!

Jade Melbourne makes her Tigers debut

Before heading to the States with the Seattle Storm, Jade Melbourne will suit up for the Melbourne Tigers for a handful of games. Melbourne scored 20 points with 11 rebounds, five assists and two steals against the Waverley Falcons. 

Nunawading spoil South MVP's night 

The Nunawading Spectres withstood the reigning conference MVP Alicia Fooling's huge 26 points and 19 rebounds. 

The star of the Spectres was Cassidy Mihalko, with 24 points, eight rebounds and five assists, the star guard was the leading factor in their win.

We can't forget to mention captain Rachel Antoniadou, who almost had a triple-double with eight points, eight rebounds and 10 assists to take the win on the road.

Madelynn Utti dominates off the bench 

Starting off the bench, Utti dropped a massive 28 points and nine rebounds to carry the Falcons past the Tigers at home. 

Utti ended the game with over 36 minutes on the court, but could a sixth-man role be the secret to the Falcons' success this season? 

Dillon Stith is still an athletic menace 

The NBL free agent and Coles Express NBL1 National Finals is back for the 2023 season with the Waverley Falcons and has been as dangerous as ever. 

The veteran had 10 points with seven rebounds as well as this massive block to give the Falcons the three-point win over the Melbourne Tigers.

William Carius dominant against Knox 

In a stellar road win, William Carius dropped 30 points with eight rebounds to cement another win for the Nunawading Spectres. He went on a 13-point tear in the third quarter which broke the game open for Nunawading and sealed Knox's fate.
