NBL1 South Stars help Australia qualify for the FIBA 3x3 World Cup

Three NBL1 South stars have secured Australia’s ticket to the FIBA 3x3 World Cup.

Going undefeated in the FIBA 3x3 World Cup Qualifiers, Marena Whittle (Ringwood Hawks) and Ally Wilson dominated the final game against Israel — combining for 19 points to secure Australia the top spot.

Miela Goodchild (Mount Gambier) and Keely Froling (Launceston Tornadoes) rounded out the team that got Australia the win.

The 2023 FIBA 3x3 World Cup will take place in Vienna, Austria, from May 30 - June 4.

While over in Wuhan, Australia’s Women’s World Series team featuring Lauren Mansfield, Chloe Bibby (Frankston Blues), Emma Clarke and Amy Atwell (Bendigo Braves) came second to China.
