WOMEN'S

Melbourne Tigers 78 defeated by Waverley Falcons 94

The Waverley Falcons secured a win against the Melbourne Tigers 94-78 on Thursday night at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre.

The Falcons were on fire, with Rebecca Cole leading the charge with a solid 23 points, backed by Renae Mokrzycki and Carley Ernst who added 18 and 17 points respectively.

The biggest point of difference was the defence, while Melbourne scored 57 of their 78 points from the bench, they only shot 4/27 from the three-point line.

The stand out for Melbourne was import guard Cierra Dillard, scoring 16 points with four rebounds and assists off the bench.

Keilor Thunder 75 defeated Eltham Wildcats 72

The Keilor Thunder secured a clutch win over the Eltham Wildcats with a score of 75-72 on Thursday night at Keilor Stadium.

Keilor Thunder showed their dominance all season, it came down to the wire in a late-season push for finals. Isabelle Bourne led the charge with 27 points and 17 boards, showcasing her WNBL talent. Penina Davidson backed her up with 18 points, making a significant impact in the paint where Keilor outscored Eltham 50-28. Keilor's defensive game was on point too, snatching 10 steals and making the most of their opportunities with 19 second-chance points.

Coming down until the final moments, Opal Maddi Rocci closed the game out with three of four made free throws to claim Keilor's 19th win on the season.

Eltham Wildcats, despite the loss, had noteworthy performances from Lily Scanlon and Rebecca Pizzey, who scored 21 and 18 points respectively. Pizzey also impressed with a double-double, pulling down 17 rebounds with two blocks.

MEN'S

Keilor Thunder 67 defeated by Eltham Wildcats 98

The Eltham Wildcats secured a win against the Keilor Thunder with a commanding 98-67 scoreline on Thursday night at Keilor Stadium.

Eltham's offence was on fire, led by Angus Glover who dropped a massive 32 points, shooting an impressive 73.3 percent from the field. South East Melbourne teammate Owen Foxwell also had himself a game, with 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists and five steals. The Wildcats' defence was outstanding from start to finish, holding Keilor to only 17.6 percent from outside the arc and were in the lead for over 38 minutes.

Despite a decent effort inside, with 32 points in the paint, Keilor couldn't overcome their issues with turnovers, giving up the ball 17 times. The Thunder only had two scorers in double-digits, with their only bright spot being sharpshooter Trevor Lakes -- who put up a fight with 16 points and secured four rebounds.

Melbourne Tigers 88 defeated Waverley Falcons 71

The Melbourne Tigers secured a win against the Waverley Falcons 88-71 on Thursday night at the Melbourne Sports & Aquatic Centre.

Jack Purchase led the charge with a stunning 30 points, including five triples. While Tom Wilson added a near triple-double with 16 points, 11 assists and nine rebounds showcasing his NBL-level talent.

Despite the loss, Waverley had some stand-out performances. With a strong 20-point performance Dexter Kernich-Drew and an all-round effort from Malik Meunier with 13 points, 11 rebounds and three steals. The Tigers' ball movement allowed for a more diverse and efficient offence, with 23 assists to Waverley's 15, Melbourne was able to claim some easy points to ensure the win.
