Sabres sign returning star

Funda Nakkasoglu will return to NBL1 South's Sandringham Sabres in 2025 after a strong season as co-captain in 2024. 

The 28-year-old guard averaged 21.7 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.2 assists last season - with the backend of the season spent on sidelines after suffering an injury. 

“I really look forward to continuing to build upon the success of last season and hopefully going one step further this year. I'm just excited to be back with my girls again competing!" Nakkasoglu said.
