Chadinha back in the pack

The Joondalup Wolves have announced the re-signing of 6’4 guard and Wolfpack junior Gabe Chadinha for the 2022 season.

The Joondalup Wolves have announced the re-signing of 6’4 guard and Wolfpack junior Gabe Chadinha for the 2022 season.

Chadinha was signed for 2022 way back in May of this season due to impressing in trainings and D-League.

The Wolfpack believes that 2022 is going to be his year to step up.

He led the D-League in total points and had a couple of 40-point games, which is why Joondalup head coach David Morrell considers Chadinha to be a big part of the future of the Wolfpack.

"Bringing Gabe back was an obvious decision for us as Gabe has a bright future," Morrell said.

"He is a Wolves junior; a very high potential player, and he loves the game.

"Gabe brings us youth and athleticism - he has an electric, bursty quality as an athlete.

"But because he loves the game, he puts the time and work in that gives him a chance to go from good and high potential as a young player, to a player that actually reaches his potential.

"Lots of players have potential, we believe Gabe will put the work in to reach his.

"I’m very excited about the opportunity to work with Gabe for a full calendar year of morning workouts and team trainings.

"I think his trajectory as a player is really going to raise quickly.

"But more than any of that, Gabe is unselfish, works hard without being entitled, and he is a great fit for a culture that values team accomplishments and winning over individual accolades."

Chadinha, who is known for his public speaking, had this to say about his return in 2022.

"I am extremely excited to be part of the 2022 NBL1 Wolfpack team," he said.

"I am grateful to be given this opportunity to play alongside such talented players, dedicated coaching staff and amazing Wolfpack supporters.

"I'm looking forward to our team playing great basketball in 2022."
