Championship coach re-signs with Raiders

Craig Simpson will return as Head Coach of the Knox Raiders NBL1 Women’s team for the 2026 season, following a successful campaign that saw the club claim both the NBL1 South and NBL1 National Championships.

Craig Simpson will return as Head Coach of the Knox Raiders NBL1 Women’s team for the 2026 season, following a successful campaign that saw the club claim both the NBL1 South 2025 and NBL1 2025 National Finals Championships.

Under Simpson’s guidance, the Raiders recorded an 84–64 Grand Final win over Geelong United to secure the NBL1 South 2025 title, before going on to defeat the Cockburn Cougars 93–72 at the NBL1 National Finals in Canberra.

Simpson brings more than 20 years of experience across elite basketball environments in Australia and overseas. He currently serves as Knox Basketball’s Director of High Performance and has previously held roles with the Adelaide 36ers and South East Melbourne Phoenix in the NBL, along with head coaching positions in China’s CBA.
