NBL analyst Peter Hooley says Rockingham Flames superstar Devondrick Walker is "well deserving" of an opportunity to be back in the NBL and it's easy to see why.
The Flames are second on the highly competitive NBL1 West ladder and Walker is in contention for the West MVP. Walker is averaging 27 points per game, 6.1 rebounds and four assists per game as one of the most electric players this season.

Walker's first taste of the NBL was in the 2017-2018 season when he signed with the Perth Wildcats, a foot injury prevented him from playing that season entirely. But in the South East Melbourne Phoenix’s inaugural season, Walker played eight games for the club in the back half of the season -- eventually making his debut against the Wildcats.

Now with a full NBL1 West season under his belt, he says he’d welcome a return to the league.
“Of course, it’s always a place you want to play,” Walker said on the Coles Express NBL1 Show.
“But it’s not why you play, you don’t play for the job or the next opportunity, you play because you love it. If it comes, it comes, but I’d be grateful for it.”
Walker’s first overseas playing experience playing was with the Phoenix. He said he fell in love with the Australian lifestyle and a big reason he came back to play in the NBL1.
“The time was short, so I never really got to fully experience this country or the people,” he said.
“In the short time I was here I absolutely fell in love with it, the weather, the energy, the love and support you get from the fans. It’s just a place you want to play basketball.
“This time came around that I would get more of an extended stay and play with some good friends. Greg Hire said ‘come kick it with the Flames’ so I said ‘why not?’ I never really got to have my full experience out in WA so why not, and I am enjoying it.”
Devondrick Walker’s Rockingham Flames will take on the Willetton Tigers on Saturday at 7:00 pm AWST on NBL1.co.au or the NBL1 App here.
