The Sharks welcomed back former MVP Lauren Nicholson last week after the recent birth of her first baby, but she wasn’t available to hit the floor at Newcastle Basketball Stadium and Sutherland ended up only having six players who did.

They still put up a strong showing, though, even after Newcastle had built a 17-11 lead by the end of the first quarter.

Then despite only having six players available, the Sharks produced a stunning fight back and by the time Maddy Norris scored with 1:30 to play, suddenly the scores were all the way back level.

Nicole Munger and Norris then traded buckets before Munger scored again to return Newcastle to the lead and Jordyn Dewhurst had the chance at the line to keep it equal.
