Elizabeth Murphy has caught the NBL1 East's attention

Round 7 of the NBL1 East belonged to Elizabeth Murray, according to NBL1 East expert Jactina Govind.

The country Victoria representative and 16-year-old star in the making exploded last Saturday for the Albury-Wodonga Bandits. She caught fire hitting eight triples and finishing on a total of 28 points with six rebounds and four steals to give the Bandits the win at home over the Panthers. 

After the game, Govind spoke with Bandits assistant coach Sam McDonald and he explained that the Wodonga local is a multiple-talented guard and is a “very coachable kid", on The NBL1 Show according to Govind. 

The reigning NBL1 East champions have a significantly retooled roster from the fairytale story of last season with Lauren Jackson’s return. 

Starting with bringing back Albury homegrown product Emma Mahady, who is leading the team is scoring with 19.7 points per game. But they also brought in up-and-coming star Ashlee Hannan, who is averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds,

The Bandits are 5-3 going into Round 8 and have a major test on Saturday, facing the 8-1 Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at 4:00pm AEST live via NBL1.com.au or the NBL1 App here.
