Almost two years after Harry Froling suffered a cowardly punch to the head, he is set to return to the court through NBL1 according to Code Sports.
Last playing a professional game in January of 2023, his battle through hazy memories, mental health issues and his physical recovery has been one of the biggest challenges of the 2019 Rookie of the Year’s life.
Getting the “kick in the arse”, he needed from close friends Lachie Venus and Will Magnay, Froling has developed a more positive mindset and reduced his weight by up to 28 kilograms.
Throughout the past NBL1 North season, Froling participated in the Mackay Meteors’ strength and conditioning programs – inspiring him to make his comeback for next season.

Having been medically cleared for further physical activity, the two-time NBL1 champion is now training towards a long-awaited return for the 2025 season.
“I’m not far off. I could roll up and play NBL1 now if the season started today. I’m not NBL ready, but I do plan on being ready for NBL1 in May,” he told Code Sports.
“It has been a long journey, but I’m proud of myself for fighting to reach this point.”
