MACKENZIE BURKE RETURNS TO ONEFORTYONE PIONEERS FOR 2026

The OneFortyOne Pioneers are pleased to announce that Mackenzie “Macca” Burke will return to the club for the 2026 NBL1 South season.

After joining the program as a development player in 2025, Burke impressed coaches and teammates alike with her enthusiasm, drive, and willingness to learn. Alongside fellow development player Edie Easterby, Burke embraced every opportunity to grow her game and gain valuable experience competing at the NBL1 level.

In addition to her NBL1 involvement, Burke continues to sharpen her skills locally by playing for the Millicent Saints in the Country Basketball League (CBL). This dual-commitment underscores her dedication to improvement and her strong connection to the grassroots basketball community.

Known for her energy and team-first approach, Burke continues to develop under the guidance of the Pioneers’ coaching staff and senior players. Her growth reflects the strength of the Pioneers’ player-development program and its commitment to supporting emerging talent from the region.

Head Coach Matt Sutton said Burke’s re-signing highlights the potential within the next generation of Pioneers athletes and reinforces the club’s focus on long-term development.

“She has really started to show the work rate and commitment required to compete at NBL1 South level, so we look forward to seeing her progress further.” he said.

Meanwhile, Burke shared her appreciation for the Pioneers’ community-driven culture and the opportunities she’s gained through the program.

“Being part of the Pioneer program means a lot, it's so cool meeting new people within the team, having opportunities to verse some of the strongest players in the country and continuing to improve my game.”

“I love our community culture at the Pioneers. The amount of community events and gatherings between the players, sponsors and community makes the season really enjoyable and adds to the experience of playing at such a high level.”

The OneFortyOne Pioneers will tip off their 2026 NBL1 South campaign soon, with further announcements on roster signings and pre-season activities to be released soon.
