The Knox Raiders have signed Melbourne United big Mason Peatling for the 2021 NBL1 South Season.

Peatling, currently in his first year with United, played four years of college at Eastern Washington University. In his final year he averaged 17 points and 9 rebounds while shooting 55% from the field, leading Eastern Washington to the Big Sky Conference Championship. In December 2019, Mason scored a conference record 54 points to go along with 13 rebounds in a 146-89 win over Multnomah University.

Once the NBL season finishes, Peatling is excited to get to work with the Raiders.

"I'm really looking forward to joining the group in the back half of the year, working on my own individual game and also contributing to our team," said Peatling. "I can't wait to get to work with Dom and the rest of the guys to push hard for a strong year."

"There are a lot of great things happening now at the club. I feel there is room for growth and that's something I'd like to be a part of. I'm looking forward to being active in the NBL1 '21 season and experience that 'family' club feeling that I enjoyed during my VJBL days."

Raiders Head Coach Dom Linossier can't wait to have Peatling involved with the program.

"We are excited to welcome Mason to the Raiders. He’s an elite talent with a pro work ethic and mindset. His time at Eastern Washington showcased his ability to score the ball, and to be a presence at the defensive end."

"It’s exciting to know that he joins us fresh from competing with the NBL's elite. Mason is a high character person who will be sure to be a fan favourite with Raider Nation in no time"
