Forestville Eagles vs Sturt Sabres

Eagles Purchase sword to slice Sabres in second half

The Eagles held equal second and sliced apart another contender as their third quarter downed the Sabres 122-86 at the Nest. The Eagles scored 11 fast break points and 6 from turnover as Jack Purchase with 14 points in the quarter helped his side run over the Sabres who lost Sam Daly early in the match with a foot injury. The Sabres kept pace with Joel Spear (16 points with 4 triples and 8 assists), Jacob Rigoni (16 points with 4 triples, 7 rebounds and 6 assists) and Jack Turnbull (14 points and 5 assists) kept them just in touch but the 34-15 quarter driven by Purchase who finished with a equal career high double double of 29 points and 11 assists snuffed it out. Daniel Johnson cruised his way to 25 points, Greg Mays threw down some big dunks on his way to 15 points and Adam Doyle helped celebrate their 2012 championship dropping 14 points, 13 assists and 6 rebounds.

   

South Adelaide Panthers vs Eastern Mavericks   

Hoppo heaven as Panthers pouch Mavs 

The Panthers favourite son pouched a career high which was a heavenly way to finish the official public opening of their home venue the Mitchell Park Sports and Community Centre (The Jungle) over the Mavs 102-72. Jarryd Hoppo dropped 31 points with 5 triples at 61 percent, 13 rebounds and 5 steals stepping up in the absence of Alex Starling and along with Jeremy Smith (21 points and 6 rebounds) and Codey Ellison (12 points and 10 rebounds) helped the Panthers to a third quarter of 31-14 that put it beyond doubt. Koop McCalop had a big one for the Mavs again with 28 points and 9 rebounds while Ioannis Dimakopoulos showed what the Mavs have been missing this season with a 19 point and 18 rebound monster double double. James Legan was quelled with 16 points and 6 rebounds as the Panthers now jumped into fourth and the Mavs languish six wins behind fifth.

 

Woodville Warriors vs Central District Lions

Action Jackson jolts Warriors third to trounce Lions 

A huge third quarter from Joe Jackson and the Warriors trounced the Lions 108-73 at the Castle. Jackson had 9 of his 19 points and 6 rebounds in the 34-3 third quarter taking it all away from the Lions in the absence of head coach Tracey York. David Humphries was solid with 18 points and 7 rebounds, Nick Wurm was wiry with 18 points and 7 assists and Jawan Stepney scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. The Lions were led by Branden Jenkins and Bijan Johnson with 16 points and will need to start winning soon if they are to catch the Rockets who are in sixth place four games clear.

 

Southern Tigers vs West Adelaide Bearcats (Kayo Game of the Week)

Devastating Daniels takes Tigers to third of season   

A season high from Vionte Daniels has taken the Tigers to their third win of the season 105-77 over the Bearcats at the Cage. Daniels dropped 37 points at 68 percent, tied the perimeter record of nine triples set this season by Legan and 9 rebounds. Not to be outdone Lachlan Olbrich also had a massive statline with his sixth double double of the season 26 points and 18 rebounds to be the two dominant forces of the night. Nik DeSantis was best for the Bearcats with a 29 point and 12 rebound double double along with Nate Sheppard who collected 19 points and Luke Cadzow with 9 points and 9 rebounds.

 

North Adelaide Rockets vs Norwood Flames

De-Lycett performance gifts Flames sixth in streak

The 2015 Woollacott Medallist continued to roll it back as he continued the winning streak of the Flames 71-92 over the North Adelaide Rockets at the Launch Pad. Matt Lycett launched for a season high 30 points at 73 percent including 8 rebounds while Trey McBride continued his patch of form with 17 points and 10 rebounds in his first double double of the season. The Flames got off to a hot start to lead 36-53 at the half with the Rockets remaining competitive after half time. Terry Winn was best with 20 points for the home side with Jimma Dau (15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists) and Dylan Marshall (14 points) the next best. The Flames sixth in a row lifts them to equal second on the table.
