There were four matches on Saturday night in Round 7 of the NBL1 Central Women's season with wins for the Norwood Flames, West Adelaide Bearcats, Southern Tigers and Sturt Sabres.

There were four matches on Saturday night in Round 7 of the NBL1 Central Women's season with wins for the Norwood Flames, West Adelaide Bearcats, Southern Tigers and Sturt Sabres.
The Norwood Flames recorded their 81-65 home victory against the Eastern Mavericks on the back of 25 points from Brooke Basham and 20 from Ally Wilson. Brigitte Lefebvre-Okankwu scored 25 points for the Mavs and Oksana Gouchie-Provencher 24 points along with 16 rebounds.
The West Adelaide Bearcats were able to continue their strong start to the 2022 season by beating the Woodville Warriors on the road 86-48 on Saturday night.
Jennie Rintala starred for West Adelaide with 24 points and 16 rebounds with Regan Turnour-McCarty top-scoring for Woodville with 12 points.
The Southern Tigers were able to improve to a 4-3 record on the season with an 89-75 victory at home against the South Adelaide Panthers on the back of a dominant second half.
Morgan Yaeger was impressive in the win for the Tigers with 23 points while Demi Skinner added 18 points and 13 rebounds. Olivia Levicki put up 23 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists for South Adelaide.
It was also a big win at home on Saturday night for the Sturt Sabres, defeating the Central District Lions 83-49 on the back of outscoring them 43 points to 15 in the second half.
Mikayla Williams delivered 27 points and 17 rebounds for the Sabres while Raynisha Washington had 17 points for the Lions.
Round 7 in the NBL1 Central competition wraps up with three more matches on Sunday afternoon with the Central District Lions hosting the Woodville Warriors, the Norwood Flames taking on the North Adelaide Rockets, and the Eastern Mavericks playing the South Adelaide Panthers.

NORWOOD FLAMES 81 defeated EASTERN MAVERICKS 65
The Norwood Flames delivered a strong performance on their home floor on Saturday night to end up beating the Eastern Mavericks by 16 points.
Norwood was back home at The ARC Campbelltown and started well against the Mavericks with 24 points to 17 in the opening quarter.
It was another 18 points to 14 in the second term for the Flames and that saw them leading the Mavs 42-31 by the half-time interval.
Norwood then closed out the win with a dominant fourth quarter to prevail 81-65 and improve to a 3-3 record on the season while the loss sees the Mavericks slip to 1-5.
Despite the loss, the Mavericks did pull in 57 rebounds to just 41 from the Flames including 20 at the offensive end to 41. However, the Mavs coughed up 31 turnovers for the game while attempting nine fewer field goals and 11 less free throws.
Brooke Basham was impressive for the Flames to finish the night with 25 points and four steals with Ally Wilson contributing 20 points, 12 rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.
Sophie Kerridge added 13 points, seven assists and seven steals, Genna Anderson nine points and four rebounds, and Alek Akuen eight points, seven boards, four steals and two assists.
Brigitte Lefebvre-Okankwu put up 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Mavericks with Oksana Gouchie-Provencher contributing 24 points, 16 rebounds, four assists and two blocked shots.
Olivia Bradley also had eight points, seven rebounds and three blocks, and Chloe Dumesny six points.
WOODVILLE WARRIORS 48 lost to WEST ADELAIDE BEARCATS 86
The West Adelaide Bearcats started strongly and didn’t let up against the Woodville Warriors in Round 7 action on Saturday night.
The Bearcats started strongly at St Clair Recreation Centre with 24 points to 12. They added another 26 points to 10 in the second period and that saw them lead the Warriors 50-22 by half-time.
West Adelaide completed the job in the second half to end up winning 86-48 to improve to a 5-2 record so far this season while the Mavericks are now 1-5 as a result of the defeat.
It was a dominant performance on the glass from West Adelaide as they collected 62 rebounds to just 41 from Woodville including 24 offensive boards to just eight.
Jennie Rintala was impressive for the Bearcats as well in the big win finishing with 24 points, 16 rebounds and three steals on the back of shooting 10/17 from the field.
Jasmin Fejo added 14 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals for West Adelaide, Jasmine Simmons 13 points, eight boards and five assists, and Sky Langenbrinck nine points, five rebounds and two steals.
Regan Turnour-McCarty put up 12 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals for Woodville with Emily Winter adding 10 points, eight boards, five steals and four assists.
SOUTHERN TIGERS 89 defeated SOUTH ADELAIDE PANTHERS 75
The Southern Tigers had to come from behind at half-time to end up scoring a home win on Saturday night against the South Adelaide Panthers.
South Adelaide started well on Saturday night at Morphett Vale Basketball Stadium with 23 points to 21 in the first quarter and another 19 to 15 in the second to see them lead 42-36 at the half-time interval.
The Tigers needed to dig deep out of the break and they did exactly that with 22 points to 15 in the third quarter, and then 31 to 18 in the last to have overcome the 13-point deficit to end up winning 89-75.
The victory improves the Tigers to a 4-3 record on the season while the Panthers suffered their first loss of the 2022 season.
On the back of her WNBL season at the Sydney Uni Flames, Morgan Yaeger has started the season impressively for the Tigers and on Saturday night she delivered 23 points, nine assists and eight rebounds.
Demi Skinner also finished with 18 points and 13 rebounds, Margot Hall 16 points, Mollie McKendrick 12 points, nine rebounds and three assists, and Jemma Thacker 11 points, five boards, three assists and two steals.
Olivia Levicki put up 23 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists for South Adelaide with Ashleigh Spencer contributing 16 points and five assists, Jordan Hunter four assists, three steals and three rebounds, and Hannah Stewart seven points, six boards and three steals.
STURT SABRES 83 defeated CENTRAL DISTRICT LIONS 49
The Sturt Sabres dominated the Central District Lions after quarter-time for an impressive Saturday night win on their home floor.
Sturt was back at home at Springbank Secondary College but the Lions started well to lead by a point at quarter-time away from home.
However, from there the Sabres were able to take over the contest with 21 points to 14 in the second period, 18 to four in the third and 25 to 11 in the fourth.
That saw the home team end up winning 83-49 with Sturt improving to a perfect 7-0 record on the season while Centrals are now 0-6.
It was always going to be a significant challenge for the winless Lions up against the undefeated Sabres, and in the end Sturt had 23 offensive rebounds to five, and forced Centrals into 28 turnovers for the game.
Mikayla Williams put in a tremendous performance in the win for the Sabres with 27 points and 17 rebounds while shooting 11/19 from the field.
Nicola Matthews added 14 points, Meg Prosser 10 points, four rebounds, three assists and two steals, Jasmine Rigoni 10 points and three boards, and Lauren Gibbons six points, four rebounds and four assists.
Raynisha Washington top-scored for Centrals with 17 points and five rebounds with Casey Samuels contributing eight points and seven boards.
