Courtney Woods, Mikaela Ruef and Mia Loyd had dominant NBL1 North performances on Friday in wins for the Northside Wizards, Brisbane Capitals and Logan Thunder while Gold Coast's men made it nine straight, and Shaun Bruce and Majok Deng starred for Logan.

The three women's matches to open Round 10 in the NBL1 North saw the Northside Wizards beat the Gold Coast Rollers 74-62 with the Brisbane Capitals defeating the South West Metro Pirates 86-72, and Logan Thunder downing the Rockhampton Cyclones 66-53.
Then in the men's contests, Gold Coast beat Northside 90-77, Brisbane thrashed South West Metro 123-75 and Logan beat Rockhampton 108-97.

Woods fires to help keep Wizards unbeaten
The Northside Wizards maintained their perfect start to the NBL1 North season by opening Round 10 with a 74-62 victory at home to the Gold Coast Rollers.
The Wizards put their undefeated record on the line at Northside Indoor Sports Centre playing host to a Gold Coast team who had won their past two setting the stage for a terrific match up.
Northside made a fast start with 22 points to 12 in the opening period and they were never behind the rest of the night, but Gold Coast never went away either.
The Wizards would end up leading by as much as 12 points during the second quarter, then by 14 in the third and would end up scoring the 12-point triumph to improve to 11-0 on the season with a seventh win on their home floor.
Courtney Woods had another standout performance in the win for the Wizards with 26 points, four rebounds, four assists and three steals.
AJ Johnson provided great support too with 18 points, 13 rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks for Northside with Rebecca Haynes contributing eight points and five boards, and Georgia Dale seven points, six rebounds and three assists.
Ariana Moorer did what she could to keep Gold Coast in the contest with 31 points, 10 rebounds, four steals and two blocked shots.
Jasmine Hooper added nine points, four rebounds and two assists, Carla Drennan eight points, five boards and two assists, and Catherine Reese eight points, seven rebounds and three steals.

Loyd brilliant as Caps snap losing run
The Brisbane Capitals snapped a four-game losing slide by producing a huge fourth quarter to beat the South West Metro Pirates 86-72 on Friday night.
The Caps came into Round 10 of the NBL1 North having lost their past four matches while the Pirates had won their last four so Brisbane was looking to turn the recent trend around at Auchenflower Stadium.
After Brisbane started the game strongly, South West Metro ended the first quarter strongly with six straight points to take a four-point lead into the first break.

Then from the moment the Pirates were leading 24-18 early in the second period, Brisbane made a stunning run scoring 14 straight points to go from six points down to leading by eight.
From there, the Caps went into half-time still clinging to a two-point lead by half-time before stretching that edge out to four by three quarter-time.
Brisbane then made sure its losing run would come to an end with 23 points to 13 in the final period to secure the 14-point victory.
The win improves the Capitals to a 6-5 record on the season while the Pirates' four-game winning run came to an end with them falling to 9-3 as a result.
Mia Loyd put together a blistering performance for Brisbane to finish the evening with 33 points, 14 rebounds and eight assists on the back of 11/18 shooting from the floor and 9/11 from the free-throw line.
Steph Collins was also tremendous for the Caps with 21 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three blocks with Anna Cameron contributing 13 points on a perfect 6/6 shooting performance.
Maddy Rocci ended the night with 23 points, six assists, five rebounds and three steals for South West Metro with Lulu Twidale contributing 17 points, five steals and four boards, Hannah Young 12 points and six boards, and Leah Scott 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals.

Ruef leads Logan to road win over Rockhampton
Yet another 20-20 double-double from Mikaela Ruef has kept the Logan Thunder's momentum going with the 66-53 road victory against the Rockhampton Cyclones.
It's no coincidence how Logan's fortunes this season have dramatically turned upwards since the return of Ruef and that continued on Friday night for the road clash to the fourth placed Cyclones at Bravus Arena.
It was a tight game all evening with the lead changing hands right throughout the contest with Logan up by two at quarter-time and then Rockhampton leading by two themselves at half-time.
Then just as Logan appeared to be running away with it in the third quarter leading by eight, Rockhampton would score 10 straight points to regain the lead.
However, the Thunder pulled away once more to be leading by eight at three quarter-time and then went on with the job to score the 13-point victory.
The win is a fourth in-a-row for Logan who now improve to an 8-4 record as a result while Rockhampton has lost consecutive matches to be 6-4.
Mikaela Ruef was again the dominant presence on the court finishing with 21 points, 22 rebounds and five assists for Logan.
Mikhaela Cann added 13 points, six assists and four rebounds, Mackenzie Auton 12 points with 3/5 three-point shooting, and Chevannah Paalvast 11 points.
Lara McSpadden ended up with 15 points, 11 rebounds and three assists for Rockhampton with Lauren Heard contributing 13 points, five boards and four assists, and Sam Bowman 11 points, 10 rebounds and five assists.

Rollers beat Wizards to make it nine in-a-row
Another 13-assist, near triple-double performance from captain Jason Cadee sparked the Gold Coast Rollers to keep their hot form going with the 90-77 victory against the Northside Wizards.
The defending champion Rollers arrived at Northside Indoor Sports Centre on an eight-game winning streak while the Wizards played host to them attempting to bounce back from last week's loss to the Sunshine Coast Phoenix.
Both teams had their time on top in the first quarter before Northside was leading 25-22 after one. The Wizards got out to an 11-point lead in the second but the Rollers hit back and grabbed a one-point edge by half-time.
Gold Coast then pulled away further in the second half to lead by as much as 11 in the third term before opening up a 17-point gap in the fourth before settling with the 13-point victory.
The win is a ninth in-a-row for the Rollers who improve to 10-2 in their championship defence while the Wizards are 6-5 with consecutive defeats.
Gold Coast captain Jason Cadee produced another 11 points, 13 assists, seven rebounds and three steals despite shooting just 4/17 from the field and 1/10 from three-point range.
Elijah Kamu top-scored with 21 points and five rebounds on 10/11 shooting while Preston Le Gassick added 20 points, seven assists and five rebounds, Cameron Thew 18 points and 12 boards, and Todd Blanchfield eight points, 14 rebounds, four assists and two steals.
Cameron Healy top-scored for the Wizards with 22 points, seven rebounds and four assists while Kyle Zunic contributed 21 points, eight assists and seven boards, Andrew White III 15 points and four rebounds, Jed Richardson 12 points, seven boards and three blocks, and Lual Diing seven points and 15 rebounds.

Caps dominate Pirates to win by 48
The Brisbane Capitals kept their season best form going by putting on a hurting to the Lamar Patterson-less South West Metro Pirates on Friday night, winning 123-75.
The Caps were fresh off their best showing of the season last Saturday night beating the Seahawks by 20 points, and they put in a stunningly dominant performance against a Pirates team missing Patterson along with Roman Siulepa.
The Capitals were only leading by three points at quarter-time but then took charge with 34 points to 22 in the second to go into half-time on top 53-38.
Brisbane turned things up a notch further in the third period with 41 points to 15, and another 29 to 22 in the fourth to end up winning by 48.
The consecutive big wins for Brisbane improves them to a 3-8 record on the season while South West Metro is now 6-6.
Trevor Lakes put up 23 points, 10 rebounds, three assists and two steals for the Capitals on 8/11 field goal shooting and going 5/8 from three-point territory.
Malok Majak also produced 20 points and five rebounds, Lachie Dent 18 points and 12 assists, Tim Soong 14 points, six rebounds and three assists, and James Moors 13 points, five boards and two assists.
It was a rough night for South West Metro with Brendan Teys top-scoring with 17 points while Chris Cedar added 15 points and Jeremy McLaughlin 16 to go with five rebounds on 8/14 shooting.

Deep, dangerous Logan stay top with win in Rockhampton
The Logan Thunder took charge to open up a 25-point third quarter lead over the Rockhampton Rockets on their way to the eventual 11-point road victory.
Logan arrived at Bravus Arena on a nine-game winning streak to sit on top of the NBL1 North standings ahead of taking on the bottom placed Rockhampton to open Round 10 on Friday night.
The Thunder only led by a point at quarter-time but began to take charge in the second term going on an 11-0 scoring streak and putting up 36 points to 25 to go into half-time on top 60-48.
Logan pushed that scoring run out to 15 to lead by as much 25 at one point in the third quarter too, and then held out the fast finishing Rockets to win by 11.
The victory for the Thunder keeps them on top of the NBL1 North with the 10th straight win while Rockhampton stays on the bottom at 1-9.
Majok Deng returned to the Logan line-up and picked right back up where he left off with 31 points, seven rebounds, three assists, three blocks and two steals as he tries to lock down another NBL contract to continue his 201-game career.
Rasmus Bach was also back for the Thunder and produced 23 points, 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals with Boston Mazlin contributing 15 points and three assists, Shaun Bruce 14 points and 13 assists, Elijah Puna 12 points and three rebounds, and Tom Howard nine points, 11 boards and four assists.
Damian Prgomet did what he could to lift the Rockets with 34 points, nine rebounds, four assists and two steals on 13/19 shooting from the floor.
Malcolm Bernard added 19 points and 11 assists, Chier Maker 18 points, 12 rebounds, three assists and two rebounds, Hayden Richardson 11 points and three assists, and Sean Biernacki 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals.
