NBL1 South is proud to announce that the 2026 Pre-Season Blitz will be hosted at Hoop City – Port Melbourne, located at CourtSide, from March 13 to 15, bringing together every club for a full weekend of preparation, connection and competition ahead of Round 1.

The annual Blitz gives teams valuable court time through a series of practice games under official conditions while providing players and coaches with opportunities for media engagement, integrity education sessions, and development for technical officials including referees, statisticians and scoretable personnel.

This year’s event introduces a new aspect to the weekend, with a Season Launch function on the Friday night to acknowledge clubs, athletes and partners ahead of the 2026 campaign.

CourtSide, recognised as one of Australia’s premier basketball training venues, will provide an elite environment for the event. The Port Melbourne facility offers world-class training technology, professional coaching programs and full recovery amenities that will be made available to athletes across the weekend.

NBL1 South League Manager Alison Cody said the Blitz continues to be one of the most important and enjoyable weekends of the year.

“The Blitz is a fantastic way to bring our teams together before the season begins,” Cody said.

“It provides a valuable opportunity for game preparation and league education, but also for building connection across our NBL1 South community. CourtSide is an outstanding venue to host the event, and we’re looking forward to a great weekend.”

Justin Schueller, Hoop City’s Director of Coaching & Performance and Head Coach, said the venue is proud to welcome the league and its clubs.

“We are a destination for the best and the aspiring to be the best, so for us to be able to host the NBL1 South Blitz at Hoop City – Port Melbourne and CourtSide is very exciting for us,” Schueller said.

“We look forward to this event and continuing to build the partnership with NBL1 South.”

The Blitz has become a cornerstone of the NBL1 South calendar, offering clubs the chance to refine their systems, integrate new players and build momentum before the season tips off.

The NBL1 South 2026 season tips off on Friday 27 March 2026. For all the latest updates, including player signings, coaching appointments and league news, make sure you’re following NBL1 South on Facebook and Instagram.
