WOMEN
Frankston Blues (57) def by Sandringham Sabres (74)
The Sabres led the whole game, dominating inside the paint (42 pts in paint). Sandringham's 49 rebounds were too much for Frankston's 31.
Funda Nakkasoglu led the Sabres with 22, backed up by Chelsea D'angelo's 23.

Eltham Wildcats (55) def by Nunawading Spectres (70)
Nunawading got off to a strong start and held that lead until the end of the contest. Eltham struggled with 24 turnovers.
Five Spectres players managed double-digits while Leidel led Eltham with 18

Ballarat Miners (69) def by Geelong Supercats (81)
Although the Miners boast the 33rd pick in the 2022 WNBA draft in Jade Melbourne, it was Geelong who came out on top in their country rivalry clash.
Sara Blicavs finished with 24 and 10 while Zitina Aokuso followed her with an impressive 20 points and 8 rebounds.

Keilor Thunder (64) def by Bendigo Braves (86)
Bendigo was in the lead for 96% of the contest. They had no trouble scoring inside, with a whopping 60 points in the paint in comparison to Keilor's 24.
The story of the night was Megan Mckay, who led the Braves with 29 pts and 13 reb.

Knox Raiders (62) def by Kilsyth Cobras (68)
In a contest fought to the end, Kilsyth's scoring went unmatched by Knox and got them over the edge for the win. 46 of Knox's 62 pts came from Froling and Tessari.

Though a high scoring contest on both ends, Casey stunned the Rangers with their 49% 2 pt shooting. Casey's entire scoring outpout came from their starting group.
Shereesha Richards led the Cavs with 21 points and 16 rebounds

Hobart Chargers (43) def by Launceston Tornadoes (81)
Keely Froling dropped a monster 36 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals, proving why she is touted as one of the best players in the league
Launceston forced 28 turnovers from Hobart and boasted 18 steals in doing so.

Diamond Valley Eagles (58) def by Mt. Gambier Pioneers (99)
Mt. Gambier's stellar shooting (50% FG, 37.5% 3P) and teamwork (22 ast) led them to a 41 pt win over Diamond Valley.
Cassandra Brown finished with 28 pts and 8 boards.

Sandringham Sabres (82) def by Frankston Blues (111)
In what could be an early playoffs preview, the Frankston Blues came out as convincing winners over an undermanned Sandringham Sabres side.
The Sabres came out firing on all cylinders, leading 24-19 at the end of the first period. However, the Blues rallied back with a 36pt second quarter, which placed them in a position to runaway with the game in the second half.
Dillon Stith was key to Frankston’s success scoring 24pts and 3reb, while Tom Wright was the best performer for the Sabres, with 24pts and 4ast.

Eltham Wildcats (58) def by Nunawading Spectres (66)
Nunawading hit the road to take on Eltham in both squads’ season opener’s. The spectres secured the win in what turned out to be a low scoring battle against Eltham.
Callum Barker led the Spectres on the back of a huge 16pt 16reb performance. Mitchell Dance did what he could for the homeside, scoring 19pts with 6reb.

Hobart Chargers (67) def by NW Tasmania (73)
Cross state rivals battled in the Apple Aisle as the North West Thunder stole a win on Hobart’s home court.
KaVaughn Scott looked great for the Thunder scoring 21pts in his Thunder debut, while Ole Angerstein looking unstoppable for the homeside, posting 18pts and 15reb.

Dyson King Hawea began his 2022 NBL1 South Season with a bang!

Dandenong controlled the game from the jump - leading through 85% of the contest - and wound up with a 16 point win.

Bendigo Braves (62) def by Keilor Thunder (81)
Bendigo’s young core wasn’t enough for Keilor as they fell by 19 points to the Thunder. Keilor played a team game, dishing out 17 assists with 28 of their points coming from the bench.
27 points 9 rebounds and 5 assists - it was that type of night for Jacob Lampkin.

Overall it was a low scoring contest. Simon Grant missed two free throws at the buzzer to send the contest into overtime. Kilsyth managed to get to the free throw line 17 times compared to Knox’s 3.
Corey Jeffs led the game with a strong double double; 15 points and 11 rebounds

High scoring and down to the wire, the Geelong supercats were able to hold on and secure a two-point first round win over country rivals Ballarat.

Mt. Gambier was able to hang on in a thriller contest at their home ground. Diamond Valley did not disappoint in producing highlights, though it didn’t matter as their poor free throw shooting (12 for 21) that cost them in the end.
Tom Kubank was a human highlight reel, backing up Michael Harris’ 32 points with 20 of his own.
