There were only two games to start off this NBL1 weekend with the Men's and Women's Casey  Cavaliers travelling down to Tasmania to take on the Hobart Chargers.

WOMEN 

Casey Cavaliers (73) def Hobart Chargers (55)

The star of the night was Casey's Lousie Brown, she scored 18 points and had 12 points in the 18 point win over Hobart. Monique Conti was also a standout, with many highlight plays the shifty guard scored 15 points in a dazzling display of moves. 

Both teams shot under 40 percent from the field in a defence-first clash, Hobart's Angela Tompkins had 13 points and 11 rebounds but it wasn't enough to get them the win.

MEN

Hobart Chargers (82) def Casey Cavaliers (79)

The Men's game in Tasmania saw a close game filled with talent, the recongisable Hobart's Sam McDaniels (13 points) and Harry Froling (14 points, 15 rebounds) put up big numbers while Casey's former NBA player Mangok Mathiang showed his elite athleticism with 18 points, five rebounds and four blocks. 

But the Cavaliers stand out was William Hickey scoring 19 points and keeping the ship steady until Hobart overwhelmed the team with scoring. Four of five of Hobarts starters had more than 10 points and controlled the boards, outrebounding Casey by 14.
