NBL1 South All-Star Five member Miela Goodchild has made a cross-conference move to the NBL1 North North Gold Coast Seahawks for the 2024 NBL1 season.

NBL1 South All-Star Five member Miela Goodchild has made a cross-conference move to Queensland with the North Gold Coast Seahawks for the 2024 NBL1 season.
Last season she averaged 24.2 points, seven rebounds and 2.5 assists for the Mount Gambier Pionners, leading the team to the Preliminary Finals.
She had a season-high of 37 points with 12 rebounds and six assists against the Wavlery Falcons.
Head Coach Caddie Jeffries said that Goodhcild’s addition to the squad will greatly impact their ceiling.
"Being able to secure someone with Miela’s resume is a huge coup for our program and will greatly impact our success,” she said.
“Miela’s ability to score will make us extremely dynamic. Her willingness to buy into the team culture and her competitiveness are some of her greatest characteristics.”
Goodchild said she is excited to return home to Queensland after spending the past few years in Perth, Melbourne and Mount Gambier.
“I’m super excited to finally be coming back home this NBL1 season and taking up the fantastic opportunity to play for the North Gold Coast Seahawks,” she said.
“The style of play suits my game and I’m excited to showcase that. Can’t wait for the season.”
Goodchild is currently in Western Australia with the Perth Lynx, where she scored 11 points against the Sydney Flames in Round 1 of the WNBL.
The former Blue Devil will now join NBL1 North First-Team superstar Mikaela Ruef on the Seahawks for the 2024 NBL1 North season.
