NBL1 stars guide Sapphires to FIBA U16 Asia Cup four-peat

The Australian Sapphires have claimed their fourth consecutive gold medal at the FIBA U16 Asia Cup, defeating New Zealand 86-50 in Sunday's tournament final. 

Marianela Fakalata from the Dandenong Rangers starred in the victory, finishing with 14 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals, while Madison Ryan from the Sandringham Sabres was equally impressive with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists. 

Starting the opening quarter on the back foot, the Sapphires fell to a seven-point deficit early on, before regaining the lead before the first break and storming away for a 36-point win.
