North West Thunder Todd Nothrop Memorial Game

This Saturday night we are suiting up and taking to the court for a very special game against the Sandringham Sabres. It will be a high octane game and we will be pushing for a home victory but for us, this game is bigger than basketball. This is all about Todd and the whole Nothrop family.

Todd was a former lightning fast guard who racked up 129 games with the Red Hoppers from 1988-1993, graduating from junior ranks to make the senior line-up at the young age of 15 years. He also played 42 games at SEABL level with the Devonport Warriors through 1990-1992 and the Coastal Breakers under Coach Phil Thomas in 1993. Todd was the ultimate competitor who had a single-minded attitude to training and playing and his passing in 1995 from cancer was felt throughout the entire basketball family and the wider community in Tasmania. NW Thunder is very proud to keep Todd's memory alive through this game.
Todd's mother Margaret and sister Jodie Murphy are household names in coastal basketball and do a power of work across all levels of the sport.

Our players plan to leave everything out on the court this weekend for those people we have all loved and lost, and those that continue to go through a cancer journey. We are with you. There will be ways to donate on the night so be prepared to give a little if you can.
