Norwood finalises Men's and Women's rosters with trio of signings

The Norwood Flames have finalised their Men's and Women's rosters with the signings of Georgie Garrard, Andrew Webber, Daniel Webber and Matt Lycett.

The Norwood Flames have finalised their Men's and Women's rosters with the signings of Georgie Garrard, Andrew Webber, Daniel Webber and Matt Lycett.

Garrard provides leadership, as well as a strong physical presence in the paint.

Her interior game is complemented by her outside shooting.

The ability for her to spot up and pick and pop will be key to the Flames' offence this season.

Also a former teammate of Ally Wilson, Garrard is looking to re-kindle the on-court success and chemistry that she and Wilson had enjoyed in the past as SA Country teammates.

On the men's side of things, Andrew Webber has clocked over 350 games for the red and blue, Daniel more than 250 and Lycett enters his ninth official year on the roster.

Unfortunately, Andrew suffered a season-ending ACL injury, but will still be involved with the team from the sidelines, providing leadership to the group.

Prior to that, he was playing really well in pre-season games, with his tweaked jump shot paying dividends.

Daniel has been the glue to the team for years.

Playing one through four, he provides the ‘do it all’ role for Norwood.

Whether it be a lock-down role on D, simply moving the ball and setting picks on offence, or making great decisions- Daniel has been there to fill whatever void is needed.

Lycett, a former league MVP, is still as fit as ever, having trained for a marathon last year.

His physical condition and determination are as good as ever.

He will form a main piece of the group’s aspirations at a deep playoff run, providing leadership and poise in key moments.

That, coupled with his scoring ability, will keep the Flames ticking over this season.
