The 2/10th Battalion was the first South Australian battalion formed for the Second Australian Imperial Force. Many of the men discovered basketball during their service and it became a recreational pursuit during their campaign before returning home.
These men formed what is now the Norwood Flames basketball club, one of many teams in the NBL1 Central today.
The Purple and Blue colour patch on the ANZAC Round jerseys is the same as what the battalion wore during their service, with the colour scheme forming the original colours of the club -- The Adelaide Rifles.
