Shaneice Swain dominates Nike Hoops Summit

NBL1 North Cairns Dolphins star Shaneice Swain has dominated the Nike Hoops Summit for Team World. 

Swain was Team World’s leading scorer with 19 points, four rebounds and two assists in only 21 minutes, playing in front of WNBA scouts in the United States. 

WNBA writer Mark Schindler reported that scouts across the tournament declared her the best international prospect on the Team World roster. 

"Shaneice Swain is the best prospect on the World team, hands down," Schindler wrote. 

While ESPN’s Kevin Pelton tweeted that he expects to see Swain drafted in the 2023 WNBA draft on Tuesday morning. 

Last NBL1 season with the Mackay Meteorettes, Swain averaged 16.7 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.4 assists. 

After another great WNBL season with the UC Capitals, Swain returned to the NBL1 with the Cairns Dolphins. She scored 27 points with four rebounds and three blocks against the defending champion Townsville Flames in Round 1 before heading to the States.
