Stanwix Shines Again In SBL

Tasmanian youngster Jack Stanwix shined once again in the SBL this week, as he amassed 37 points in the Glenorchy Spartans’ 99-76 win over the Grenadiers.

Stanwix has been one of the best players in the SBL this season and continues his rise up the Tasmanian basketball ranks. He was well supported by Phoenix Robey and Callum Barker, who both added 21 points each.

Matthew Young was the Grenadiers’ best with 32 points while Sam Youl had 18.

The Hobart Phoenix took down the KHBA Kings 74-70 in the other men’s game, with Tiri Masunda and Callum Boucher both scoring 26 points for the victors.

KHBA received solid contributions from Noah Straatsma (22 points) and Elijah Pawson (20 points).

The women’s action this week was headlined by the Spartans taking down the Southern Wolves 79-75. Sarah O’Neill was the Spartans’ highest scorer with 29 points while Kate Berry added 20.

Ellie Collins also had an impressive performance with 27 points for the Wolves, with Tayla Roberts scoring 23.

Eliza Van De Kamp was the leading scorer in the other game with 14 points as her Phoenix defeated the Kings 51-47.
