It is with sincere appreciation that the Frankston Blues bid farewell to Lachlan Barker after six outstanding seasons with the club.
Lachie joined the Blues in 2019, during a pivotal rebuilding phase for our Senior Men’s program. Throughout his time with us, the team reached the finals every season and proudly finished as runners-up at the 2021 NBL1 National Final.
Beyond his on-court contributions, Lachie made a lasting impact on the club and the wider community. He dedicated time to coaching Junior Blues teams and played a key role in leading FDBA’s introductory and development programs.
Lachie shared these parting words.
"Thank you to the organisation, coaches and players. They welcomed me in my first year there and treated me like family and I see it has my second home."
"They have helped me to become the player and person i am today and very grateful for all the opportunities they gave me and I can’t thank them enough."
"I wish them luck for the upcoming season and I look forward to seeing them on and off the court."
Frankston Blues NBL1 South Men's Head Coach expressed his gratitude.
"On behalf of the Senior Blues Men’s program, we’d like to thank Lachie for his energy and commitment over the last six seasons. He has been instrumental in turning around the culture at Frankston and was a fan favorite from day one."
"We are just as proud of his legacy off the court in our community as we are of his stellar contributions on the court."
"We will miss coaching him and watching him play, but we wish him nothing but the best of luck. He knows he will always be a Frankston Blues alumni for life!"
We thank Lachie for his hard work, commitment, and passion, and wish him all the best in his future!
