Thunder takes 'process minded outlook' after double despair on the road

Keeping a "process minded outlook" is how North West Thunder is dealing with their pair of interstate defeats.  The NBL1 South side travelled to Mount Gambier on Friday, April 19, and fell seven points short of the Pioneers, with the final score 91-84.
It was much the same on Sunday, with the Thunder suffering a 105-96 loss at the hands of Victorian club Keilor.
After slumping to four consecutive losses in a row, American import Seth Swalve felt there was room for improvement on "both sides of the ball".  "We didn't play the level we know we can and the standard that is required to be competitive in games," Swalve said.  "There's things offensively and defensively that we can get so much better at but we are keeping a process minded outlook on the whole situation.  It's not going to happen at once so we are just trying to chip away at it. There's a feeling of togetherness still in the group, we know we can get it done."
Thunder captain Tre Armstrong did his best to salvage a win against the Pioneers with 25 points, while import Sekou Sylla scored 17 points and 17 rebounds in his first game of the season.
Sylla, who has returned after playing for Sweden team Uppsala, continued to impress against Keilor, finishing with 25 points and 20 rebounds.  Swalve was excited to share the court with the 24-year-old, describing him as "very dynamic in so many ways".
"[Sekou is] wonderful and really fun to play with. He brings great energy and toughness, and brings a lot to the table. He will be huge for us and all the other guys will step up as well," he said.
The Thunder will return to Ulverstone on Friday, April 26 for their clash against the Ballarat Miners, before facing Casey in Launceston on Saturday.
