Turnage averaged 19.9 points on 49.8% shooting and 7.2 rebounds per game with the Wolves last season.

Turnage moved to Australia to pursue his professional career, and played NCAA basketball for Saginaw Valley State University where he averaged 15.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in his senior season.

He first appeared in NBL1 Central with the Southern Tigers in 2018-19, and the next two seasons with the Norwood Flames in 2020-21.

Turnage was the Grand Final MVP for the Tigers’ 2018 championship win, and followed that with league MVP in 2019.

Before signing with the Wolves in 2022, the then 26-year-old was again crowned league MVP and All-Star 5 honours for his 2021 season.

“The past two years I’ve learned and grown a lot. I’ve met many good people that have made my time here in Perth worth staying long term. Moving forward we are hoping to bring a championship to the Wolfpack,” Turnage said via Wolves media.

Wolves’ head coach David Morrell spoke on his excitement of having the superstar import back with the team for the next two seasons.

“It’s rare to have continuity in the import spot with a player of his calibre, and we consider ourselves lucky to be able to build a team with him as a core piece of our roster for multiple consecutive years,” Morrell said.

“CJ is a special player and person to have around. In two years, he’s proven himself a great asset to our team culture – a guy who is a great teammate and committed to our team’s goals.”

NBL1 West’s 2024 season starts on Thursday, March 28. All games will be streamed live on NBL1.com.au and the NBL1 App.
