The Hobart Chargers have announced that superstar Maddie Garrick has signed on with the club for the 2021 NBL1 South Season.
A perimeter player who can dominate from all areas of the court, Garrick has played at all elite levels of women’s basketball in Australia and is set to light the hardwood at the Kingborough Sports Centre on fire in 2021.
Garrick’s list of accomplishments stack-up with the very best in the NBL1 South, having played in two WNBL championships, as well as having won two gold medals while representing Australia in the 3x3 competition.
Whether it be playing in the pick and roll, shooting the lights out from beyond the three-point line, or finishing strong at the rim; Garrick is sure to have the crowd on the edge of their seats.
Not just a leader with her play on the court, Garrick brings a strong presence to a local-based core of players, and will no doubt show that anything is possible if you put in the work and dedicate yourself to your dreams.
Hobart Head Coach Mark Nash said he was thrilled that a player of Garrick's calibre has joined the team.
"Maddie's a superstar of Australian basketball, she's been around the WNBL for a number of years, former star of the SEABL competition and a follower of the Chargers, so it's great to have her on board with us.
"Maddie brings so much to the team both on and off the floor.
"I think the league's going to be really excited to see Maddie in a Hobart singlet this year."
Garrick joins Ellie Collins, Sharna Thompson and Kathleen Scheer on what is an impressive Chargers roster so far.
Hobart begins its NBL1 2021 campaign against Launceston/ NW Tasmania at 5pm on Saturday 17 April.
