While there have been some major signings this offseason, it’s time to look at some under-the-radar signings that are set to make a major impact in 2025 starting on March 29th.

Newcastle Falcons: Meg Jefferson
The defending champions have added another proven scorer to their roster. In the past two seasons, Meg Jefferson has been a go-to scorer for both the Penrith Panthers and Hills Hornets, averaging 15.5 points across 40 games in the East.
She’s unafraid of contact inside the paint and a creative mid-range shooter, the only knock on her scoring is the volume of three-point attempts - shooting only 36 last season.
Now playing alongside back-to-back MVP Nicole Munger, so expect her attempts and efficiency to increase. Either as an elite sixth-man scorer or fitting perfectly alongside Munger in the starting line-up.
Central Districts Lions: Sydney Wright
NBL1 North champion Sydney Wright will make the move down to Central for 2025.
After being a key contributor to Rockhampton’s championship run, she will now join the Central reigning champions.
While her stats don’t jump off the page, the Adelaide local is a sharpshooter who can rise to the occasion when required – scoring 23 points and making seven triples in game three of the North Grand Final.

Eastern Suns: Karly Murphy
The third-fiddle of the Warwick Senators last season is about to have a breakout season for the Eastern Suns.
Despite sitting behind former MVP Stacey Barr and 2024 runner-up Chloe Forster, Karly Murphy still averaged 17.1 points and 13.1 rebounds – finishing the season as the conference’s 16th leading scorer and third-leading rebounder* (players who played over 10 games).
The star import will make an immediate impact on the Suns’ line-up, joining a young core who finished 6-14 last season.

Mount Gambier Pioneers: Catherine MacGregor
After a productive season with the Darwin Salties, Catherine MacGregor will head south to play with the Mount Gambier Pioneers.
The 22-year-old guard averaged 11.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.1 steals per game for the Salties last season. The sharpshooter will seamlessly fit into the Pioneers’ high-powered offence, making 2.5 per game on close to 30 per cent from outside.
