Versatile Skinner back in business for Ringwood

Ringwood Hawks versatile forward Demi Skinner has re-signed with the club for the 2021 NBL1 South season.

Ringwood Hawks versatile forward Demi Skinner has re-signed with the club for the 2021 NBL1 South season.

Skinner, who plays for the Bendigo Spirit in the WNBL, is still focused on developing her game and also representing her family back home in Port Lincoln, South Australia.

“I just want to become a better athlete and make my family proud,” she said.

When asked about her expectations of the team this year, Skinner was confident in the team’s ability to be a playoff contender.

“We have a strong roster this year and I’m excited to get out on the court with the girls and hopefully make it to the finals and championship game,” she said.

In 2020, Skinner was ready to go for the Hawks’ NBL1 team but when COVID-19 hit, she was forced to head home.

The silver lining was that she was able to spend more time with her family before heading to Bendigo and then on to Ringwood.

Skinner joins returning team captain Danni Bone, Toni Farnworth, Jacqui Trotto, Hope Terdich, Kate Spillane, Marena Whittle and Hajnal Nagy as the announced signings for the Hawks, who face Eltham at Eltham this Saturday night.
