WATCH: Ruby Porter stars for the Cockburn Cougars at the Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 National Finals

The Cockburn Cougars weren't able to achieve their ultimate goal at the Mitsubishi Motors NBL1 National Finals, but their form early in the weekend was outstanding and new Adelaide Lightning WNBL signing Ruby Porter was at the centre of it all.

The Cougars dropped 132 points in an enormous 47-point win over the Woodville Warriors on the opening day of National Finals, and Porter's performance was nothing short of crucial to the big win.

She finished with 33 points, six of which were three-pointers, as well as three rebounds and three assists. However, it was the defensive side of her game that stood out most as she chalked up a massive nine steals in the contest.
