The Eltham Wildcats are excited to announce the signing of Taylah Wynne for the 2022 NBL1 South season.
The Ballarat junior grew up playing basketball for the Miners/Rush, represented Victoria County three times (2014, 2015, 2016) at the National Junior Championships, won multiple Ballarat Youth League MVP’s and played with the Ballarat Senior SEABL/NBL1 teams since she was 16.
The 23-year-old combo guard brings a wealth of experience to the Wildcats line up. In 2021, she averaged 11.9ppg for the Ballarat Rush on 37.9% shooting from behind the three-point line which will be integral to the Wildcats success in 2022.
Coach Grant Hardy believes his new recruit will contribute in more ways than one.
“When recruiting for talent, character is above all things the most important attribute I look for in an individual. Taylah is a perfect fit for our Club. Her maturity and leadership is something we will take advantage of this season as well as her fantastic all round talent at both ends on the floor.
“She is dynamic skilled shooter on the offensive end and a great physical defender. We look forward to Taylah making a significant impact to our Club on and off the floor this season,” said Hardy.
This year is shaping up to be a successful one for the Wildcats and Taylah is excited to be a part of it.
“A big reason Eltham was the place for me this year is the close-knit community which is something that is important to me coming from Ballarat, the opportunity to be coached under Grant and to play with a great group of girls. I’m looking forward to playing in the new stadium at Montmorency and competing for a championship.”
You can see Taylah and our Wildcat teams in action when the 2022 NBL1 South season tips off on April 23rd against the Nunawading Spectres at Nunawading Basketball Centre.

The Eltham Wildcats are in the final stages of building their $19m stadium at Montmorency SC featuring a 1,200 seat show court area; in what will be the jewel in the sporting landscape in north-eastern Melbourne, whilst hosting the Eltham NBL1 home matches and other big events.
Stay tuned for more announcements to come as we build up to the 2022 season tip off.
The NBL1 represents the highest level achievable for players, coaches, technical officials and game day staff in the Eltham Wildcats pathway. It provides individuals in the north-east of Melbourne with a chance to be exposed to the national leagues. The Eltham Wildcats aim to have teams that strongly represent the north-east of Melbourne and players who’ve come through the Eastern Districts Junior Basketball Association (EDJBA).
