Young Squad Making Progress

Jaylen Cooper had a career high 12 points and 7 rebounds in the Round 3 matchup with the Sunshine coast Phoenix played at the Paul Bancroft Centre over the weekend. The 21 yo looks more comfortable on the floor each week and Coach Dover will be looking for more of the same for next weeks game against Logan.  Annaleise "Lou" Watkinson  at 20 yo led the scoring.  The SupplyAus RedCity Roar girls were able to make runs on the scoreboard, off the back of their defence and showed some consistent patches of efficiency but it is still a work in progress for the young squad. Choosing the right options under the pressure of defence at this level will be a process, and Coach Dover will be looking for progression in this area. The Phoenix shot 55% from the field where as the Roar were 43% overall.  With the bye this weekend the girls will be working towards an improved performance against Logan on the 12th of June in the Plasmaide Zone at the "Den"
