Braves welcome back Wehrung

The Bendigo Braves have scored a coup ahead of the 2021 NBL1 South season re-signing WNBL star Abbey Wehrung.

Wehrung joins the Braves after a stellar WNBL season for Adelaide Lightning where she averaged 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game and shot the ball at 40.7 percent from behind the arc.

Well-known to Bendigo and the Victorian Country Basketball community, Wehrung has represented Australia on numerous occasions, her most recent being a core member of the gold medal winning Emerging Opals at the World University Games in 2019.

She will be a key player and will form part of an exciting Braves outfit for the season ahead with her elite athleticism, dynamic scoring and lockdown defense.
