Like everyone else, Ringwood Hawks young gun Kaide Fittolani desperately missed playing the game he loves in 2020.
For the 2021 season though, Fittolani will be doing his best to make up for lost time as he will be balancing Big V youth league commitments and NBL1. The young Hawk has earned a spot on the Hawks' 12 man roster for the 2021 NBL1 South season.
“Kaide has a great feel for the game and we are looking for him to be an impact player in the future,” Ringwood NBL1 assistant coach Willie Weimer said.
“He will be busy but this is a huge development season for him and we expect to see the improvement on a weekly basis.”
Fittolani has always been a popular teammate and a crowd favourite. His willingness to listen and learn from coaches and his more experienced teammates, along with an unselfish attitude, is setting him up for a great 2021.
“Our practices are really competitive and with that much talent going head to head, you wanna make sure you are switched on and making a few mental notes,” Fittolani said.
“If you don’t learn something new each session you are not paying attention.”
The Hawks have now added Fittolani to a growing roster that includes veterans Matt Fennell, Nathan Truman, Matt Snow and Trevor Latham. It is expected Ringwood will have some further announcements over the next few weeks.
