Dyson Daniels has become the first ever Bendigo born player to make it all the way to the NBA. The Bendigo Braves native played NBL1 in 2019 before heading to the NBA Global Academy in Canberra. From there, the talented teen took his game to the NBA G League Ignite team, signing in 2021 and passing up on offers from several US Colleges.
The first round pick went 8th overal, making him the second Australian in a row to be selected in the Top 10 following on from Josh Giddey last year. Daniels was selected by the New Orleans Pelicans, a team which has said they are embracing an “NBA ready defender” with the nickname “Crocodile Dundee” from the Pelicans faithful.

Daniels comes from a strong basketball family, father Ricky, is from the United States, he is a two-time SEABL MVP with the Bendigo Braves, and his number was retired by the team. Dyson's older brother, Kai, plays college basketball at Regis University.
