The Bendigo Braves have announced the acquisition of Kate Oliver for the 2021 NBL1 South season.
Standing tall at 6’4 with the skill set to play both in the post and on the perimeter, Oliver has experienced and excelled at every level Australia has to offer.
She represented Australia in U17 and U19 play, attended the Australian College of Sport and then after a prosperous college career at Marist and University of Southern California, she represented the Sydney Uni Flames and Melbourne Boomers at WNBL level.
Oliver then took her talents to Europe and has been playing in the women’s British Basketball League since 2017.
She captained the Leicester Riders to back-to-back championships, is a three-time league MVP and was named the MVP of the WBBL Cup in February in which the Riders took out the ultimate prize.
Prior to returning to Australia, Oliver had averaged 15 points, eight rebounds and three steals per game in the 2020/21 season and was named in the WBBL All-Star Five for the fifth consecutive season.
Oliver joins Tess Madgen, Abbey Wehrung, Cassidy McLean and Piper Dunlop on Bendigo’s roster for the upcoming season.
