Lara McSpadden makes Keilor Thunder switch for 2026 season

The Keilor Thunder have announced the signing of WNBL star Lara McSpadden for the 2026 NBL1 South season. 

With a terrific resume under her belt, including WNBL championships with the Sydney Flames and Townsville Fire, and an NBL1 North Championship with the Rockhampton Cyclones, McSpadden will bring plenty of experience to the Thunder lineup next season.

In 2025, McSpadden averaged 15.6 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.2 steals for the Diamond Valley Eagles in NBL1 South. 

She has gone on to play a solid role for the Sydney Flames in the 2025-26 WNBL season, averaging 5.3 points and 3.3 rebounds for the season so far. 

McSpadden's 2025 NBL1 season was headlined by a sensational display against the Melbourne Tigers on April 8th, where she finished with 29 points, 9 rebounds, and 5 assists.
