The Bendigo Braves have been bolstered by another key addition for the coming NBL1 South season, re-signing versatile guard on the rise, Cassidy McLean.

McLean is back with the Braves after representing the Bendigo Spirit in the 2020 WNBL season in the Queensland hub, her third in Bendigo colours.

A starter for the Spirit for almost half of the season, McLean showcased what makes her an emerging athlete to watch, and one of the most reliable young guards in the country - able to contribute to the team in all statistical categories as needed, carrying herself with a maturity and professionalism beyond her years.

McLean comes from an elite basketball pedigree, with father Marty being a long-time Falcon in the NBL, in Cass’s hometown of Newcastle.

Couple that with a blue collar work ethic and her diligence to work on all areas of her game and you get an athlete that has lead from the front in representing both NSW Country, in Australian Junior Championships, and Australia, in the 2016 FIBA U17 World Championships in Spain, where she was part of the gold medal winning Sapphires team.
