A host of WNBL players compete in NBL1 during winter, making the talent level of the women’s league incredibly high.
Lavey, who is preparing for the 2020/21 WNBL campaign with the Bendigo Spirit, says playing NBL1 is a vital part of the offseason program of WNBL players.
“It just proves NBL1 has a huge impact for players and being able to play at a really high level is super important in the offseason,” Lavey told NBL1’s The Fast Break.
Current or former NBL1 players on the Spirit’s roster include Lavey, Alicia Froling, Amelia Todhunter, Carley Ernst, Cassidy McLean, Demi Skinner, Jennie Rintala, Paige Price, Piper Dunlop, Shelby Britten and Mary Goulding.
