Sunday in the NBL1 South saw a pair of wins for the Ringwood Hawks while there were victories for Waverley Falcons women and Nunawading Spectres men.

Ringwood Hawks had a pair of Sunday NBL1 South wins including Angus Glover throwing down six threes in the first quarter while Bec Cole had 32 points for Waverley Falcons and Tristan Devers 43 for Nunawading Spectres.

Ringwood Hawks (91) defeated Bendigo Braves (84)
The Ringwood Hawks produced a strong fourth quarter to record the 91-84 home win against the Bendigo Braves to keep themselves alive in the playoff hunt.
The Hawks were hosting the Braves at Norwood Secondary College fresh off a win last week against the Ballarat Miners while Bendigo arrived on a seven-game losing run and having lost by 37 points last week to the Melbourne Tigers.
Bendigo were chasing a first win since May 24 and started well to be leading 19-18 by quarter-time but Ringwood took over in the second term with 28 points to 18 to be on top 46-37 by the half-time break.
The Braves, though, fired back in the third stanza after falling 18 points down to end up going on a 9-0 scoring streak of their own and to have scores all level by three quarter-time.
The game was on the line but it was Ringwood who finished the better with 25 points to 18 in the final period with 11/19 shooting from the field opposed to the 5/13 from the Braves.
That saw the Hawks score the seven-point victory to improve to a 10-9 record with back-to-back wins to keep their finals hopes alive with games to finish against the Melbourne Tigers, Knox Raiders and Kilsyth Cobras.
Nyaduoth Lok finished the afternoon with 24 points, six rebounds, three steals and two assists for Ringwood with 11/18 shooting while Camille Hobby contributed 20 points, five boards, three assists and two blocks.
Annabel Deerbon also had 18 points, nine rebounds, eight assists, three steals and three blocks, and Sarah Elsworthy 15 points, 15 assists, three boards and two steals.
Bendigo do remain in last spot with a 3-17 record now having lost eight in-a-row with Taisheka Porchia finishing with 26 points and eight rebounds with Jess Smith adding 26 points and eight boards, and Cassidy McLean 15 points, nine assists, eight rebounds and three steals.

Nunawading Spectres (75) lost to Waverley Falcons (86)
The defending champion Waverley Falcons made it three straight wins to stay in touch of a top four spot with Bec Cole delivering 32 points in the 86-75 win over the Nunawading Spectres.
The Spectres were back home at Nunawading Basketball Centre and needing to bounce back from Saturday's loss to the Knox Raiders to remain any chance of playing finals this season.
The Falcons arrived having also beaten the Eltham Wildcats the previous night to stay in touch of a top four position and it was the defending champions who made a flying start to Sunday's game.
Waverley piled on 32 points in the first quarter with 11/11 foul shooting combined with going 9/17 from the field which set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.
The Falcons maintained a double-digit lead through the rest of the contest on the way to the eventual 11-point victory which improves them to a 13-6 record to be in fifth position having now strung together three straight wins.
Bec Cole delivered another standout performance for Waverley with 32 points, six assists, three steals and two rebounds while Jenna Batsch added 14 points, four steals and three boards.
Amelia Todhunter contributed 18 points, four rebounds and two assists, Carley Ernst 12 points, five boards, two steals and two blocks, and Sophia Locandro eight points and nine rebounds.
Nunawading are now 8-11 on the season following the two defeats this weekend with Rachel Antoniadou finishing with 27 points, six assists and five rebounds.
Faith Dut added 19 points, eight rebounds and three steals, Rachel Brewster eight points, five boards and three steals, and Shaneice Swain seven points, five assists, two rebounds and two steals.

Ringwood Hawks (113) defeated Bendigo Braves (69)
Angus Glover delivered the most spectacular start with six three-pointers in the first quarter to set the tone for the eventual 113-69 win for the Ringwood Hawks against the Bendigo Braves.
The Hawks played host to the Braves at Norwood Secondary College with Ringwood needing to win to stay in the playoff race while the Braves were just playing for pride and trying to avoid a fourth consecutive defeat.
Angus Glover was back in the line-up for Ringwood coming back from playing in Japan for the NBL Select team and the South East Melbourne Phoenix NBL star produced a first quarter performance for the ages.
He had already knocked down four three-pointers in the opening four minutes of the game and went on to hit six from downtown in the first quarter alone to already have 19 points by quarter-time.
On the back of that, Ringwood were leading 34-14 thanks to shooting 7/11 from downtown as a team which set the tone for the rest of the afternoon.
The Hawks would end up leading by 30 points in the second period, by 42 in the third and then 49th in the last on the way to the eventual 44-point victory to keep their season alive.
Ringwood improves to a 10-9 record as a result of the win to be just behind the Casey Cavaliers, Hobart Chargers and Eltham Wildcats who all are in the top eight at 10-8.
Angus Glover finished with 26 points, five rebounds and five assists on 7/13 shooting from behind the three-point line.
Tanner Krebs added 17 points, eight rebounds, five assists and three steals, Max Richards 16 points and 11 boards, and Jonathan Lawton 13 points, six assists, four rebounds and two steals.
Harry Sealey added 13 points, four rebounds, three steals and two assists, Lawson Eales 10 points and seven boards, and Shaun Clarke 10 points and four rebounds.
It's a fourth consecutive defeat for Bendigo as they slip to an 8-12 record on the season with Lual Diing finishing with 17 points and five rebounds with Isaac Murphy adding 19 points, Lachlan O'Brien 15 points, three assists and three steals, and Josiah Pattinson 10 points and two rebounds.

Nunawading Spectres (96) defeated Waverley Falcons (92)
Tristan Devers delivered 43 points as the Nunawading Spectres overcame the Waverley Falcons 96-92 and 40 points from Khalil Shabazz which keeps their playoff hopes alive.
It's going to be a remarkable tight run for playoff spots now over the last two rounds of the NBL1 South season and the Spectres ensured they stay in that hunt by coming from behind to the beat the Falcons at Nunawading Basketball Centre.
Nunawading came into the contest needing to bounce back from three consecutive defeats while the Falcons arrived also in the playoff mix still and trying to bounce back from Saturday's loss to the Eltham Wildcats.
It turned out to be a tight affair all afternoon with Waverley leading 28-24 by the end of the first quarter before the Falcons extended that advantage to 54-46 by the half-time interval.
Even with the Spectres outscoring the Falcons 22 points to 17 in the third term, Waverley were still leading by three at three quarter-time before then getting out to another seven-point lead early in the final quarter.
Nunawading did hit back with a 7-0 run and then were able to end up outscoring the Falcons 28 points to 21 to end up securing the eventual four-point victory.
As a result of the win, the Spectres improve to a 9-10 record on the season while the Falcons are also 9-10 and both teams are in that logjam fighting for a playoff spot.
Casey, Hobart and Eltham are all just inside the top eight at 10-8 with Ballarat just outside on that same record while Ringwood are 10-9, Frankston 9-9 and then there is the Spectres and Falcons just clinging to still being in contention.
Nunawading finish the season against Mount Gambier, Diamond Valley and Keilor after Tristan Devers had a day out in the Sunday win with 43 points, six rebounds, two assists and two steals on 6/14 three-point shooting.
Cameron Cranston added 27 points and six rebounds with 7/13 shooting from deep with Brian Mack II contributing 18 points, 15 boards and nine assists.
Waverley will end the regular season against Sandringham, Kilsyth and Melbourne after Khalil Shabazz produced 40 points, seven rebounds, five steals and three assists in the loss to the Spectres.
Malik Meunier added 14 points, nine assists and five rebounds, Matthew McCarthy 14 points and eight boards, Bennie Lewis 11 points, four rebounds and two blocks, and Madut Akec nine points and three boards.
