It was a Tuesday night thriller albeit a low scoring affair with clutch free throws ending up sealing the deal on the 70-69 win for the red hot Sandringham Sabres against Keilor Thunder.
The Sabres were back home at Southern Basketball Stadium having moved all the way up into fourth place having won their eight straight matches to go from 2-7 and having plenty of work to do to be 10-7.
They were looking to keep that momentum going on Tuesday night at home on the back of beating the Melbourne Tigers by 21 points on Saturday night.

Sandringham shot 10/16 from the field in that opening quarter to 8/19 from the Thunder, and then the Sabres managed another 23 points to 17 in the second term to be in control at half-time leading 48-38.

The Tigers were able to respond with 25 points to 15 in the third quarter and then even found themselves in front when new Melbourne United guard Tom Wilson scored to open the fourth quarter.
Jack Purchase stretched that lead to four when he hit a three ball but once the Hawks regained the lead thanks to a three-point from Glover with 5:30 to play, the home team never looked back.
Ringwood would go on a 10-0 scoring run which included another triple from Tanner Krebs and from there they were able to score the 11-point win that enhances their playoff aspirations.
