Stanwix’s 50 piece headlines SBL round 19

Hobart Chargers NBL1 star Jack Stanwix was unstoppable in the SBL this week, scoring 50 points to lead his Glenorchy Spartans over the Grenadiers 115-88.

Stanwix has had an outstanding SBL season, leading the league in scoring at 32.7 points per game. He received strong support from Callum Barker (26 points) in Wednesday night’s big win.

Matthew Young’s 33 points were the most for the Grenadiers in their disappointing defeat.

In other men’s action from round 19, the KHBA Kings edged past the Hobart Phoenix 85-80. Michael Klapsis scored 20 points for the Kings while Tiri Masunda was Hobart’s best with 25.

Ellie Collins continued her stunning campaign this week with a 44-point performance in the Southern Wolves’ 109-51 win over Hobart. Tayla Roberts added 26 points for the Wolves.

Sarah O'Neill (24 points) and Kate Berry (20) led the way for the Spartans in their 73-61 win over the Kings. Josie Greenwood scored 23 points for KHBA.
