The Kilsyth Cobras have announced the re-signing of guard Nikita Young for the NBL1 South 2026 season.
Young delivered another consistent year in 2025, averaging 13.9 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.6 steals per game, finishing among the Cobras’ top contributors across multiple statistical categories. Her season featured four 20-plus point performances, highlighted by a pair of 28-point outings against Eltham and Waverley.
Her continued progression was recognised at national level, with Young securing her first full-time WNBL contract with the Southside Flyers for the 2025–26 campaign after two seasons as a development player.
A long-time Kilsyth junior, Young will enter 2026 on the verge of a significant career milestone, having reached 99 NBL1 games and set to surpass the 100-game milestone early in the new season.
At just 23 years old, Young remains one of the competition’s emerging two-way guards and is expected to play a key role under new head coach Emilee Harmon as Kilsyth shapes its roster and style for 2026.
The NBL1 South 2026 season tips off on Friday 27th March 2026. For all the latest updates, including player signings, coaching appointments and league news, make sure you’re following NBL1 South on Facebook and Instagram.
