Gold Coast shared the buckets around to give the Rollers a 91-63 victory over Cairns at Carrara Stadium on Friday night.
Rollers guard Lauren Mansfield scored a team high 19 points, and was joined by forward Casey Samuels (16 points), centre Caitlin Cunningham (16 points), guard Carleigh Patrick (14 points), and Aimee Durbridge (10 points) in double digits.
Gold Coast’s team effort included 37 assists, including seven from Mansfield. The Rollers outplayed the Dolphins 37-17 in assists,18-9 offensive rebounds, 16-9 steals, and 15-23 turnovers.
Cairns forward Sarah Heard scored a game-high 25 points but the Dolphins took 19 fewer field goal attempts and only made 1 of 9 three-pointers.
Mackay Meteorettes 95 def Rockhampton Cyclones 43
Mackay improved to a 2-1 win-loss record for the NBL1 North season with a 95-43 victory over Rockhampton at Mackay Basketball Stadium on Friday night.
Meteorettes forward Cayla George scored a game-high 20 points, including 7 of 11 three-pointer attempts, and 16 rebounds.
Mackay’s backcourt of Heidi Freeburn (23 points) and Paris Santacaterina (21 points) helped the Meteorettes jump out to a 36-10 lead after the first quarter.
Rockhampton’s Katrina Clifford scored a team-high 20 points.
